When I run this script it doesn’t appear to be doing anything. The process is running but it does nothing except sit there all day. There is nothing in the log file at all.

I don’t know whether the monitor will register any data on the USB port. So I can only assume that it doesn’t do anything when it starts the USB port.

You will need a Java JDBC driver for the monitor to read the data from the device.

I think I’ve got the JDBC driver working, but I’ve not had any use of it until now.

When I run the sample script the process starts and the log.txt file gets created which says:

but then nothing ever happens. The process remains in the same state. Nothing happens.

No-one appears to have an answer to this.

I think that it’s probably because the monitor is not sending any data to the system. And I am having a hard time finding this information out. I haven’t been able to find any information about this.

My USB port is a “Generic O2 Micro” which I don’t know if it is mentioned somewhere in the downloads.

Running this application will enable you to easily log energy data collected from your current Energy Monitor.
This application is particularly well suited to enabling you to log data from your Watts Up? Energy Monitor, but can also be used for logging data from other energy monitors.
Features
There are three main features to this application:
1. Real-time logging
After running for the first time, the application will open a new console window for real-time logging. This logging will be enabled at the time you start the application for real-time logging, and it will stay enabled until you stop the application (by pressing the Stop button).
The application will read its internal settings settings from the OWL User directory\AppData\Roaming\OWL\cfg.ini file.
This file is created and replaced with the first-time application configuration settings. The application has a default configuration file, but you can create and edit your own settings file to change the configuration options if needed.
2. User profile settings
The User profile settings allow you to specify the path to the Energy Monitor to read (including/excluding) energy data. You can specify the path to the Energy Monitor as a full UNC path, or as a relative path.
3. External logging settings
The External logging settings allow you to set the folder to save the log data to. Note that the application will only save external logging data to the External logging settings folder if the logging is enabled (as per above) when the application is started.
